Charles and William Wood arithmetic notebooks and other material, 1800-1848, bulk 1800-1803.

The collection consists of four handwritten notebooks used in the education of Charles and William Wood. The notebooks have calligraphic headings and decorative flourishes. Also included is a watercolor drawing of a juvenile field sparrow thought to be painted by William Bartram and an engraving of ornithologist Alexander Wilson. Additionally, the collection contains a handwritten poem and essay by Mary A. Wood.
